In an exacting process done entirely by hand, master women weavers in rural eSwatini use a needle and thread to tightly wrap brightly dyed sisal in stunning detail and pattern. Deep chocolate and light teak are accented by festive oranges in a bright autumnal starburst. Dimensions: 2 1/2"h x 8 1/2"dia.
Since 2010, SERRV International has partnered with artisans in eSwatini, providing a long-term trading partnership and interest-free advance payment for our orders. Through sales of their products, more than 700 rural Swazi women have received training in literacy, business English, committee structure, health education, and production techniques. Women are trained to become master weavers or managers and receive formal education so they can open bank accounts and manage their finances. A mobile homeopathic clinic also serves rural groups and staff suffering from HIV/AIDS.
