African milk tree (Euphorbia trigona) is a drought-tolerant, cactus-like succulent native to Central Africa, popular for its striking triangular stems, short spines, and small tear-shaped leaves.
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect sunlight or 4–6 hours of direct sun daily. A south-facing window is ideal indoors.
Water: Water every 10–14 days in spring and summer only when the top 1–2 inches of soil are completely dry. Reduce watering to once every 3–4 weeks in fall and winter dormancy. Always allow complete drainage to prevent root rot.
Soil: Requires very airy, fast-draining cactus or succulent potting mix containing perlite, pumice, or sand (pH 5.5 to 6.5).
Temperature: Prefers temperatures between 65°F and 85°F. Keep away from drafts and temperatures below 45°F–50°F.
